HVAC SEO ROI Calculator
Is Your SEO Paying For Itself Yet?
Search takes months to build and pays for years, which is exactly why nobody measures it. Put in what you pay, what organic brings in, and what those jobs are worth. The page tells you what an organic booked job costs and when the investment turned positive.
Example numbers loaded. Replace with yours.
Fee for search, content, and local profile work.
Calls and forms from organic search and your Google Business Profile, not ads.
Share of those leads that became jobs on the board.
Blended across repair, maintenance, and replacement.
After labor, parts, and equipment. Before overhead.

How to read it.
Cost per organic booked job
Your SEO fee divided by the jobs organic actually booked. Rankings and traffic are how you get here. This is whether it was worth it. If you cannot get this number from your current provider, they are reporting the wrong things.
Monthly net after fee
Gross profit from organic jobs minus the fee. Negative early is normal. Negative at twelve months with no plan to change it is not.
Payback
Everything you have paid so far, divided by what the channel now clears each month. Search is a build. This tells you where you are in it.
What this calculator leaves out.
On purpose, so you know where the number is soft.
- Ramp time
- SEO does not produce on day one. This uses today’s lead flow against today’s fee. Early months look worse than they are, and the payback figure is the honest correction.
- Attribution
- Organic leads only count if your call tracking or intake tags them as organic. Branded searches from people who already knew you are a judgment call, and we make it with you, not for you.
- Lifetime value
- A customer won from search this month pays you for years. Only the first ticket is counted here.
- AI answers
- More HVAC searches are answered before a click. The work that earns those citations is SEO work, but the lead shows up in the phone log, not the traffic report.
Rankings are not the report
Every owner who has bought SEO has gotten a report full of positions and traffic. Almost none has gotten the one line that matters: what an organic booked job cost this month. That is the line we send, every week, on every account.

HVAC Growth Audit. Free.
Want us to run it on your real records?
A calculator works on what you type in. The Growth Audit works on what your call log and job software actually say, by channel, and shows you which of the seven steps between a search and a booked job is leaking.
- Cost per booked job, by channel, from your own numbers
- The step that is leaking, and how many jobs it costs you
- What it takes to move it, in writing if you want it

Questions owners ask.
How long before SEO pays back for an HVAC company?
It depends on your market, your starting point, and how much competition already holds the first page. Anyone who names a month without seeing your data is guessing. What we will do is tell you at 30, 60, and 90 days whether the leading indicators are moving, and put the cost per organic booked job in front of you every week so you are never waiting on a promise.
Should I count Google Business Profile calls as SEO?
Yes. The profile is earned the same way the rankings are, and for most HVAC companies it produces more calls than the website does. Count it, and make sure your call tracking tags it separately so you can see both.
My provider reports keywords and traffic. Is that wrong?
Not wrong, just not enough. Keywords and traffic are the inputs. Booked jobs and what they cost are the output. Ask for the output. If they cannot produce it, the tracking was never set up to.
What does it cost?
It depends on the market and what is in the way, and fee is always separate from ad spend so you can see what you are paying for. We put the number in the proposal after the call, not before it.
Do you save what I type in here?
No. The math runs in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere unless you tap the text button, which opens a message you can edit or delete before sending.
Can I just text instead?
Yes. Text the question and I will answer it. No call, no charge. The call exists for the questions that need your numbers in front of both of us.
Now run it on your real call log.
The calculator uses what you typed. The audit pulls organic out of your actual records, by service line, and shows what it is really producing against every other channel.
